The Maritime & Seafood Industry Museum was established in 1986 to preserve the maritime history of the Mississippi Gulf Coast. The museum displays a wide variety of exhibits in its 10,300 square foot exhibit area. Shrimping, oystering, fishing, wetlands, charter boats, wooden boat building and net-making are just a few of the displays. The museum also houses hundreds of artifacts and photographs of the historic MS coast seafood industry. The preservation of these objects is one of the primary functions of the museum.
One can’t miss museum highlight is the two 65′ replicas of the Biloxi Schooners which set sail almost daily in the Mississippi Sound and the Gulf of Mexico.
The museum is also home to a state of the art amphitheater, the Wade Guice Hurricane Museum within a museum, an art gallery, research library and classrooms. It also offers year round education programs and a summer Sea-n-Sail Adventure Camp.
Museum hours are Monday thru Saturday 9:00am to 4:30pm and Sundays Noon until 4:00pm.
