15131207-mmmainSummer has officially arrived on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, and the options for family fun are endless! Whether your kids are enrolled in one of the myriad summer camps on the Gulf Coast or starting their first summer job, family entertainment is high on the list for most of us when the evenings stretch long and the weather is warm. After the Memorial Day festivities, the clear bellwether of summer is the Mississippi Coast Coliseum’s Summer Fair. The Summer Fair offers something for all ages! From the petting zoo and Show-Me-Safari Swine race to the live local music and thrilling rides, the Summer Fair is a sure bet for summer fun. Beginning on June 9th and operating through June 19th, the Summer Fair offers free admission for children under 5 and admission prices of only $5 for adults on Fridays and Saturdays. Arm bands may be purchased during select hours for unlimited access to rides.

To cool off this summer, take advantage of the beautiful Mississippi Gulf Coast beaches and water attractions. To really appreciate our coastal connections, take a day trip on the Ship Island Excursion to explore the natural beauty and historical landmarks on one of the Gulf Coast’s most popular barrier islands. Departing daily from the Gulfport Small Craft Harbor, the Ship Island Ferry will take you out on the Mississippi Sound to Ship Island with its sugar sand beaches and grassy dunes that are all part of the Gulf Islands National Seashore. Historic Fort Massachusetts is a must-see landmark for visitors to Ship Island.d27d63277c3d7ade06ed9c070996b23c
