Inspiring Blood Drive Hosted by Coastal Realty Group in Partnership with the American Red Cross

Gulfport, MS – Coastal Realty Group hosted an inspiring blood drive in collaboration with the
American Red Cross on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The event, held at Coastal Realty Group’s
office located at 9230 Old Lorraine Road, Suite C, saw an impressive turnout from community
members eager to contribute to this life-saving initiative.

Initially scheduled from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., the overwhelming response extended the event
until 4:00 p.m. The goal was to have 20 participants, but 28 people showed up, resulting in 21
whole blood donations and 4 “power red” or platelet donations, totaling 29 units collected. Of the
28 participants, 13 were Realtors with Coastal Realty Group.

Emily Sham, Regional Philanthropy Officer for the Alabama – Mississippi Region of the
American Red Cross, praised the involvement of Coastal Realty Group’s team. “I am amazed to
see not only how well Coastal Realty Group hosted a Red Cross blood drive with so much
enthusiasm, but also how many Realtors from Coastal Realty Group rolled up their sleeves and
donated blood to support this event. This was truly an awesome event.”

Amanda D’Angelo, Broker/Owner of Coastal Realty Group, shared her personal connection to
the cause. “I am so proud of our agents and the staff here at Coastal Realty Group. Our event was
amazing, the turnout incredible, but this has so much personal significance to me. I have received
platelets and blood transfusions, so this type of selfless generosity saved my life. I am so blessed
to be part of an organization that cares so much.”

The event was marked by a strong sense of community and purpose. Donors appreciated the
seamless process and the highest standards of safety and infection control maintained by the
American Red Cross. “I felt very safe and well-cared for during the donation process,” said
Aaron Shankland, a local resident and participant in the drive. “It’s empowering to know that my
small contribution can help someone in critical need.”

Ben Cowart, Realtor at Coastal Realty Group, expressed his gratitude and pride in the
community’s response. “We are thrilled with the turnout and the overwhelming support from our
community. Partnering with the American Red Cross for this blood drive has allowed us to make
a significant difference. It’s heartening to see so many people willing to take action and help save
lives.”

Coastal Realty Group, known for its dedication to community service, emphasized the
importance of such initiatives in fostering a supportive and connected community. “We
believe in giving back and supporting health and emergency preparedness in our area,” said
Laurri Garcia, Coastal Realty Group’s Media Contact. “Events like these strengthen our
community bonds and showcase the collective power of coming together for a good cause.”

The success of the blood drive highlights the ongoing need for blood donations and the critical
role that community events play in meeting this demand. Every two seconds, someone in the
U.S. needs blood, and Coastal Realty Group’s event has undoubtedly made a significant
contribution to addressing this need.
